SF Children’s Museum to Break Ground on New LCF Discovery Garden

The Life Center Foundation celebrated the launch of the Discovery Garden at the Santa Fe Children’s Museum July 31. The Grand Opening Celebration featured tastings of fresh produce from the garden, live music, free museum admission, face painting and hands-on activities for children, The ribbon cutting ceremony concluded with a speech by former NM Supreme Court Chief Justice Barbara Vigil. The 2025 $100,000 Leadership Award, which helped fund the creation and maintenance of the garden, marks The Life Center Foundation's largest Grant Award to date.

The Life Center Foundation extends its deepest gratitude to everyone who attended & made this milestone possible, with a special THANK YOU to the staff of the Santa Fe Children’s Museum, whose passion and dedication brought this garden to life. Additional thanks to the Life Center Foundation Board of Directors and our Sponsors, whose whose generosity, leadership, and unwavering support were instrumental in making the LCF Discovery Garden a reality.

This Garden will provide a wonderful and lasting opportunity for children to learn about seeding, cultivating & nursing plants and herbs. They will also learn about the benefits of raising & eating wholesome garden food & will have the opportunity to participate in the distribution of the LCF Discovery Garden produce to Homeless Shelters.

The Life Center Foundation will be announcing additional ’Bricks and Mortar’ Grant Awards in 2025-2026.
From 2003-2024, the LCF gave $508,500 to front-line non-profits serving New Mexico’s most vulnerable children.
